THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS OF NEW YORK 

Catskill Park and the Catskill Forest Preserve are a protected “forever wild” landscape of over 700,000 acres about 130 miles from New York City. There are 33 high peaks, with summits over 3500′ as well as many smaller peaks, lakes, waterfalls, vistas, firetowers and notches. The Catskills are a huge area and I spend a considerable amount of my time poring over topographical maps, considering the season, the weather, the time of day as well as the geographical orientation of potential locations. This is an ongoing 4 season project with photography being added to the portfolio on a regular basis.
