Let’s face it, when you are on an epic hike you  want something more than a selfie to remember such an incredible experience, this is where our adventure photography and portrait service comes in. You hire two experienced professionals, a backcountry guide and a professional photographer. who will help to plan your adventure then hike with you to ensure a safe and engaging experience on the trail. 

We are located in the Hudson Valley / Catskill Mountains and have extensive experience of hiking trails throughout the region and beyond.

We typically recommend hikes from 2 - 8 miles for the best results. You are responsible for being appropriately equipped for the conditions and must be physically capable of completing the route. We can provide guidance to help you decide what will work for you and also reserve the right to make adjustments on the day in order to keep you safe. Finally, unless conditions are dangerous we will go ahead on the date of your booking and whilst we cannot guarantee perfect weather conditions we can guarantee an engaging hike as well as a set of photographs that not only document your adventure but which also provide a gallery of memorable portraits reminding you of a great experience in the backcountry.

Adventure portraits provide a memorable experience as opposed to a stressful outdoor portrait session. We guarantee a fun experience, as we hike together we will get to know each other, there will be chatter and laughter as we share our knowledge of the natural and cultural history that is all around us in the landscape. 

It’s up to you whether you bring an outfit to change into for the actual portrait session, but please note that we will also take candids throughout the day to tell the story of our hike. We will supply your photographs digitally within a week of your experience and every image we supply will be a high resolution, fully edited photograph so that you can obtain your own print product in your own time.

The service is family friendly, but also suitable for individuals, pets, couples, small groups, even businesses who wish to undertake a team building session on the trail, anyone who wants to have a great experience in the backcountry

Where can we go?

We will try to make it happen if you have your own favorite trail or wish to climb a particular peak, but we would also love to work with you to tailor a unique and personal itinerary that you will find not only find memorable but will provide you with imagery to inspire you for years to come.

Here's a few ideas

Hike up to Sunset Point in the Northern Catskills. Take your portraits as the sun goes down then hike back to your car in the dark with headlamps. Time your hike with a full moon to maximize your enjoyment of the experience.

Let's hike on the Appalachian Trail, there's plenty of opportunities for a memorable hike both within and beyond New York, our favorite route incorporates the viewpoint at Cat Rock and Nuclear Lake, which is often described as the prettiest on the whole AT.

$400  2-8 mile day hike for individuals, couples, families and small groups up to 5 people

$800  up to 10 mile overnight hike for individuals, couples, families and small groups up to 5 people

$50    extra cost per person for groups of 6 people or more
